Award-winning software
On March 1, 2003
the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
awarded an Oscar® for scientific and technical achievement to
Alias|WavefrontTM
for the development of Maya software.
Maya, which may be best known as the software behind
the classic gay zombie vampire film-noir comedy
The Night Life,
has also been used in many other films including Spider-Man and The Perfect Storm.
Although representatives from Greek Chorus Productions, makers of The Night Life, were
unable to attend the
Scientific and Technical Academy Awards®
ceremony,
they extend their sincere congratulations to the staff of Alias|Wavefront.
